The Station Duo includes both a 14" merchant-facing screen and an attached 8" customer-facing screen — meaning customers can see the order, add a tip, and tap to pay directly on the customer display. The Station Solo is a single-screen system and does not have a built-in customer-facing display. For full-service restaurants where tableside payment with Flex is the primary checkout method, the Solo is often sufficient. For high-volume counter service or bar operations where customers pay at the register, the Duo's customer-facing screen adds significant speed and transparency. MBI will help you choose the right configuration for your specific layout and service style.
A common starting point is one Flex per server or per station section, though many restaurants share devices among staff. The right number depends on your table count, average section size, and how much time servers spend tableside. MBI recommends starting with one Flex per 4–6 tables and adjusting as you see how your team uses them. Adding a second or third Flex later is straightforward — they connect to your existing POS system with no additional setup beyond adding the device to your account.
Our dining platform includes built-in waitlist and seating management. For full reservation management integrated with platforms like OpenTable or Resy, you can install those integrations from the App Market — orders and table status then flow between both systems. Your MBI rep can walk you through the reservation integration options that match your restaurant's size and booking volume.
Yes — the system is designed to connect your entire operation. The Station Duo or Solo runs the host stand and main floor; Flex handles tableside ordering and bar service; the Kitchen Display System (available in 14" and 24") or kitchen printers manage ticket routing in the back. Everything runs on one system with one set of menus, one reporting dashboard, and one account. You can also add a separate bar Station Mini for high-volume bar service. MBI will design the right hardware configuration for your space during onboarding.
Flex and Mini have built-in 4G/LTE connectivity — so if your WiFi goes down, those devices automatically switch to cellular and keep processing payments and firing orders. The Station will enter an offline mode and queue transactions until connectivity is restored. No service interruption for tableside orders and payments. MBI recommends configuring at least one Flex per section to ensure you always have a connected device on the floor.

We'll work with you to map your floor plan, load your menu with items, modifiers, and categories, configure your kitchen printer routing, and set up employee permissions and roles. When your hardware arrives, it's ready to use out of the box. We also provide training for your management team and can schedule an on-site visit for larger installations.
